Jane Greenberg, LMSW

Jane supports clients who are struggling with daily life.  She works with clients with any level of symptom severity.   These clients may have depression, anxiety, substance abuse, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, or schizoaffective disorder.  She is experienced working with clients of varied backgrounds.

Jane’s training is in CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy).  However,  she is  a humanist at heart, which means that the relationship between therapist and client fosters healing. There has to be a good fit between therapist and client.  Jane is present with clients in session.  She is also empathetic and resourceful.

Jane will adapt her therapy style to meet her client’s needs. Some clients want insight into maladaptive thought or behavior patterns.  At other times, the client needs coping skills or someone to listen to them and validate them.  Jane may employ a problem solving approach with attention to the client’s strengths to meet the client’s goals.   Alternatively therapy may focus on acceptance to facilitate personal growth.

In addition to her experience as a social worker, Jane has nearly 10 years of experience working in mental health through her other role as a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, primarily working in the inpatient psychiatric hospital setting.

Jane is licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Workers and received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania.
