Teens and adults who have experiences with family-of-origin, self-esteem, race/culture/ethnicity, LGBTQ+ identity, young adulthood, transition, roles/pressure/expectations, trauma, changes in mood and more. Individuals work with me to gain insight into the impact their exepriences have had on them and more than that, to learn long term coping strategies to manage or resolve the impact of these experiences and symptoms. I use developmentally and culturally appropriate techniques to help each client identify negative or restricting feelings and the connected triggers by developing coping skills to resolve undesired thoughts, behavioral and emotional patterns related to anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, bipolar disorder and more.

Together, we will identify skills and techniques to help you respond appropriately to current and future stress and distress related to life, work, relationships, school and more. Using a collaborative process, we will build a flexible and dynamic plan to meet your unique and individual needs. This process will incorporate elements from various treatment orientations such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Strength Based frameworks. Your therapeutic plan will be as unique as your fingerprints. I also prioritize decolonizing mental healthcare by incorporating culturally-affirming practices that honor each clients identity. We will build a plan with you, for you.

I support clients in identifying, implementing and adapting culturally appropriate skills, strategies and interventions that can be utilized effectively in real-life situations. My clients learn to manage or overcome feelings of uncertainty, worry, panic, helplessness, sadness as well as conflict, low-self esteem, impulsive and unhelpful coping techniques like eating and shopping, difficult relationships, trauma and more. Using a non-judgmental approach, I seek to help clients understand the cause of their symptoms and their unique response to stress. Additionally, I challenge my clients to break unproductive and stress inducing thought and behavioral patterns in order to produce positive outcomes and change in their therapeutic journey. Let's unlearn, relearn, grow, and heal - together.

With warmth, humor and a direct style, I help individuals find their own strengths, understand their challenges with compassion, and use this knowledge to improve behaviors, mood, cognition, school, career, relationships and daily activities.

I earned my masters in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I am certified by the  Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists to provide mental health counseling under clinical supervision.
